Asthma and a Healthy Home Environment Workshop

In recognition of World Asthma Day on May 6, 2008, Breathe California of the Bay Area is proud to offer 2 FREE workshops for families confronting asthma or allergies. In partnership with the Santa Clara Family Health Plan, these workshops (1 for children & 1 for parents) will address asthma education and how to build a healthy home environment. If your child has asthma or allergies, your family should attend. The workshops will be held:

Tuesday, May 6
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Children)
6:00 PM – 7:30 PM (Parents)
Santa Clara Family Health Plan
1775 Story Road, Suite 130, San Jose

The following topics will be covered:

• What happens during an asthma/allergy attack and how can you prevent it
• Learn strategies to manage asthma and healthy indoor environment
• Instruction on the use of holding chambers and peak flow meters as asthma management tools
• What mediations are available to treat asthma and how do they work
• Where can you go for quality health care for children who have asthma
• What can you do during an asthma emergency


Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to Breathe California at (408) 998-5865. Children who participate in this asthma education may qualify to receive a FREE Spacer and Peak flow meters as part of the program. These are very important asthma management tools and have an estimated value of over $50.00.
