| Description: |
Early adolescence is a time when young people's bodies start to change. There is a great deal of pressure from the media and peers to be thin or look sexy. Sometimes pre-teens act out insecurities about their bodies in the form of cutting or eating disorders, or they might experience depression or anxiety. As a child's body begins to develop it's important to encourage their self-esteem, confidence, and a positive body image.
Tune in to Childhood Matters and join host Rona Renner, RN,
and guests, as they offer ideas on how preteens develop a healthy view of themselves, and recognize when help is needed.
