Note: After seven years of funding in Area 1: preventing child abuse and neglect among children ages 0-5, the Foundation made the difficult decision to phase out funding in this area in 2008. This decision was based on extensive analysis of internal and external factors and trends over the last seven years. To help its long-time community partners through this transition, the Foundation developed an exit strategy that includes one-time, unrestricted exit grants. Following an assessment of area 1 grantees, the Board approved $77,000 in unrestricted funds to the following agencies.

Exit Grants:1

Community Solutions for Children, Families and Individuals $15,000

Family Service Agency of San Mateo County $10,000

InnVision, The Way Home $15,000

Puente de la Costa Sur $7,000

Sacred Heart Community Service $12,000

Shelter Network of San Mateo County $10,000

Via Services $8,000

Footnotes:

1) Exit grants are one-time, unsolicited grants.
