The Foundation embraces the World Health Organization's definition of health as "...complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease of infirmity."
What We Fund
As a community grantmaker for San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, we are
committed to prevention, rather than the treatment of childhood disease
or injury. Building on that principle, we seek to form partnerships with
nonprofit organizations that either represent exceptional promise, or that
have already established a track record of effectiveness. Please consult

As a community grantmaker with limited resources, we inevitably receive
more requests for support than we can possibly fund.

- Be clear and consistent about its grantmaking interests, priorities, criteria and decision-making processes
