Improving Services for Children
with Special Health Care Needs
Our Goal
An estimated 14.5 percent of children in California live with chronic
special health care needs, and their numbers are growing. Our Foundation
supports the health of these children through its Development program
by raising funds
for Packard Children's Hospital, where children receive outstanding treatment
from pediatric specialists. However, California's system of care for these
children outside a hospital setting is much less robust. Through its Programs
and Partnerships work, the Foundation seeks to improve the systems of
care to enhance medical outcomes for Children with Special Health Care
Needs and improve the quality of life for these children and their families.
In keeping with the Foundation's vision, our goal is that all children with special health care needs are able to reach their maximum health potential.
