SEL programs improved
students’ social-emotional skills, attitudes about themselves and
others, connection to school, positive social behavior, and academic performance;
they also reduced students’ conduct problems and emotional distress.
The positive impact of SEL programming on academic test scores indicates
that these programs offer a practical educational benefit. The report
was commissioned by the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health
and produced by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional
Learning at the University of Illinois at Chicago. |
