Kidsdata.org, a wide-ranging clearinghouse of information on children's health and well being, now offers websites with data specific to six Bay Area counties. Each site offers the same breadth of information as the Bay Area-wide kidsdata, but data on the county-specific sites are concentrated for each county and its cities and school districts, allowing faster access to local-level data.
The new websites are available for:
- Alameda County
- Contra Costa County
- Marin County
- San Francisco County
- San Mateo County
- Santa Clara County
On each website, data are accessible for about 35 topics, ranging from autism and cancer to poverty, reading proficiency and weight. Data can be customized by year, locale, ethnicity, age and other variables, and results can be viewed as maps and tables, or bar, trend and pie graphs.
The local kidsdata sites also offer summaries of data for each county's cities and school districts, as well as data profiles for nearly 20 demographic groups in the Bay Area.
