Obama Signs 'Doc Fix" to Maintain Medicare Rates, Other Payments
Scheduled cuts in Medicare payments to physicians will be delayed for another year under legislation signed April 1 by President Obama. The bill also includes other provisions to extend various health care payments, including another delay in annual Medicaid reductions to hospitals that treat a “disproportionate share” of low-income patients.

CDC Estimates 1 in 68 Children Has Autism Spectrum Disorder
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on March 28 released a report estimating that 1 in 68 US children has autism spectrum disorder. The population-based research was conducted at 11 sites, and prevalence varied widely by site, gender and racial/ethnic background.
Study: Behavior Problem May Be Best Addressed at Pediatrician’s Office
Children with behavioral and mental health problems are more likely to participate in treatment when it is provided at their pediatrician’s office, according to a new study published in the April edition of Pediatrics. Read more and see the abstract.
