A just-released study from the National Health Law Program (NHeLP) examines mental health services for children with special health care needs in California, and offers recommendations on how to improve access to services. The report, based on a survey about services in general for CSHCN, identified mental health as one of the most difficult services to obtain. The report outlines the legal requirements for providing care, and highlights the roadblocks for families. The research was funded by the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health.
